The Cyclists of Greene will have a Full Moon Ride Sunday, Aug. 10, at 7:15 pm. The rides are scheduled to catch twilight outbound from Jefferson and return by the light of a full moon.
All COG bicycle rides originate at the Milwaukee depot on E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson, the trailhead of the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The Full Moon Rides are set on the lunar cycle, not a set day of the week, and the start times vary with the length of days.
After Sunday, two more Full Moon Rides are planned for the season: Monday, Sept. 8 departing at 6:15 pm; and Wednesday, Oct. 8, departing at 6 pm.
Helmets and lights are required. All riders must sign a liability waiver.
The Cyclists of Greene also hosts family rides around Jefferson every Sunday evening leaving the depot at 5 pm, and adult rides every Wednesday, leaving the depot at 5:30 pm.
